N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC) CAS No 127-19-5, EC No 204-826-4 and 1-ethylpyrrolidin-2-one (NEP) CAS No 2687-91-4, EC No. 220-250-6, have been introduced for manufacturers, importers, and downstream users as of December 23, 2026.

80. N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC)

CAS No 127-19-5

EC No 204-826-4

1. After December 23, 2026, manufacturers, importers, and downstream users must include in the relevant chemical safety reports and safety data sheets unless they include the Derived No-Effect Levels (DNELs) for worker exposure of 13 mg/m³ for long-term inhalation exposure and 1.8 mg/kg body weight/day for long-term dermal exposure.
2. After December 23, 2026, manufacturers and downstream users may not produce or use it, either on its own, as a component of other substances, or in mixtures at concentrations equal to or higher than 0.3%, unless they have taken appropriate risk management measures and ensured appropriate working conditions to ensure that workers’ exposure remains below the DNELs specified in paragraph 1.

3. By way of derogation from paragraphs 1 and 2, the obligations set out in those paragraphs shall apply, as of June 23, 2029, to the placing on the market or use of synthetic fibers as a solvent in the production of synthetic fibers.

CAS No 2687-91-4

EC No 220-250-6

1. After December 23, 2026, manufacturers, importers, and downstream users shall not include the Derived No-Effect Level (DNEL) of 4.0 mg/m³ for long-term inhalation exposure and 2.4 mg/kg body weight/day for long-term dermal exposure in the relevant chemical safety reports and safety data sheets.

2. After December 23, 2026, manufacturers and downstream users may not produce or use the substance on its own, as a component of other substances, or in mixtures at concentrations of 0.3% or higher unless they take appropriate risk management measures and ensure appropriate working conditions to ensure that workers’ exposure is below the DNELs specified in paragraph 1.
