The Regulation on Safety and Health in Working with Chemical Substances has been updated!
On October 20, 2023, “Regulation Amending the Regulation on Safety and Health in Working with Chemical Substances” was published in the Official Gazette dated October 20, 2023 and numbered 32345 and important amendments were made in the relevant Regulation.
Accordingly, more than 190 new substances have been added to Annex 1 of the Regulation, where Occupational Exposure Limit Values are explained, including substances used by many sectors such as Ethanol, Sodium Hydroxide. The Occupational Exposure Limit Values of 4 substances such as acetic acid and dichlorobenzene have been updated. Annex 4 of the Regulation (Safety Distances for Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Argon and Liquid Nitrogen Storage Tanks) has been repealed.
If a substance used is included in Annex 1 of the Regulation and/or is present in the mixture even if it does not meet the criteria for classification as hazardous, suppliers may be required to provide a Safety Data Sheet.
In addition, in the presence of a substance for which the Occupational Exposure Limit Value has been changed, the information under Section 8 – Exposure Controls / Personal Protection of the Safety Data Sheet should be updated.
