European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Adds Triphenyl Phosphate to Candidate List.
ECHA’s Member State Committee confirmed the addition of triphenyl phosphate to Candidate List for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in its October meeting.
The list now contains 242 entries – some are groups of chemicals, so the overall number of impacted chemicals is higher.
This substance is used as a flame retardant and plasticizer in polymer formulations, adhesives, and sealants. Companies are responsible for managing the risks of these chemicals and providing information to customers and consumers on their safe use.
