4 Substances Recommended for REACH Authorisation The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), to protect health and the environment, recommends that the European Commission adds four substances, including melamine, to the REACH Authorisation List. Once added to the list, companies must apply for authorisation if they wish to continue using the substances.

EU - CLP Updated - ATP 23 Published. Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), ATP23 amendments published in the Official Journal of the European Union Regulation (EU) 2025/1222. Accordingly, 30 substances have been added to Annex 6, the entry number of one substance has been revised, and one substance has had an ATE (Acute Toxicity Estimate) added.

As of November 29, 2024, lead cannot be used or placed on the market in articles made from vinyl chloride (PVC) polymers or copolymers if its concentration is equal to or greater than 0.1% by weight of the PVC material. This REACH restriction applies to both newly manufactured and imported PVC products, including recycled materials. Some applications, such as products containing recovered flexible PVC, have longer transition periods.
